Letter: Syrian refugees expensive

1 Comment | Leave a Comment

The refugee missions in Craven County want to bring Syrian refugees into our area. Recent history proves that we cannot fully vet these people.

A local church rector and mission director quote the bible in support. They may need to revisit the parable of the good Samaritan.

When the Samaritan found an injured stranger by the roadside, he rendered aid. He paid the innkeeper to nurse the man back to good health. If the rector and mission director want to take the refugees into their homes, provide and be responsible for them, then they may walk in the shoes of the good Samaritan.
